The Pow is Amazing!!!
I love shredding the fresh pow!
When the storms roll in and everybody around me is complaining about how bad they hate the cold weather, and how they are going to die if they have to scrape the walks one more time, I am rejoicing. Fresh snow to ride on is a gift from God! I throw on my snow gear, strap on my board and hit the slopes. It’s heaven! The soft landings on the jumps, the quiet muted sounds all around the resort, the stillness of the storm while I ride in solitude, the cold wind on my cheeks as I float down the slopes are some of my favorite things about boarding after the snow hits.
After a storm is a great time to hit the park.
I like to ride rails and hit the kickers and the powder gives me a nice soft landing. When I’m working on a new rail or a bigger jump, it’s a life saver because I miss a lot!
The only draw back to riding the day after the storm is that all the other boarders and skiers have the same idea. In that case it’s best to stay away from the main lift because the line can be long. I like to get as many runs as possible in, and the long lines can cut the slope time in half. Because I love to ride, I have found a way around that too. The singles line moves pretty fast.
If you haven’t tried boarding yet, I would highly recommend it. The first couple of times, it can be a little frustrating, but you should stick with it. It’s so worth it.
